Workshop certification for small-scale growers
Tuesday 20 May 2025
How can small-scale growers certify their sustainability efforts without getting lost in paperwork? Royal FloraHolland offers these growers a helping hand with a series of interactive workshops, from 15 May to 19 June. These workshops, both in-person and online, are designed to guide growers through the small-scale grower scheme.
The small-scale grower scheme has been specially developed for growers with a limited business size. The scheme offers a simplified certificate that includes both environmental performance (environmental pillar) and good agricultural practices (GAP pillar).
For the GAP pillar: the grower registers and inputs the required topics themselves. The goal? A workable but serious certification route that does justice to the efforts of smaller growers.
What can you expect from the workshops?
The workshops are designed as practical support and include:
- Explanation using sample documents
- Room for questions about filling in documents and the certification process
- A clear checklist, especially useful for the GAP section
These sessions help growers prepare step by step for an external audit for MPS-Compact or FloriCompact.
Preparation: what is expected of participants?
Participants are asked to prepare in advance:
- Read up on the small-scale grower scheme
- Go through the step-by-step plan for small-scale growers
- Register with FSI to use the scheme
Fill in the sample documents and checklist and bring them to the workshop
Small-scale growers can registerfor the workshop. Questions in advance can be sent to: sustainability@royalfloraholland.com.
