Everyone finds inspiration in different sources: nature, the fashion industry, news reports. For Sam, art is a limitless source of inspiration. Certainly modern art has sparked something in her, it is something that holds a special place in her creative world and deserves more attention.
Ten years ago, Sam's journey into the world of art history began. During her training as a master florist, she experimented with various ideas and stylistic directions. One assignment was to interpret Pop Art and bring it to life. Here, she discovered her talent for easily analysing and translating everyday elements, which sets her creations apart from the rest.
Her inspiration comes from the timeless nature of art history. Sam uses Monet's painting "Soleil Levant", which is more than 150 years old and still considered modern, as an example. "The colours and softness are timeless and remain relevant in our society. That is the power of art history - its ability to stand the test of time and still be relevant.
In a world where inspiration is everywhere, it can be hard to find unique angles. Everything seems to have already been discovered. That is why she calls for making the world small and finding your own strength. What do you enjoy? What are hobbies that can inspire you? These are the questions you need to ask to find your own creative path in an overload of ideas.
Developing this project was a great honour for Sam. It gave her the opportunity to position herself in a beautiful and special way. Her film is personal and revealing, and she hopes people enjoy it. Sharing her creative journey can be confronting, but she hopes it encourages others to realise their own ideas, even if it takes 10 years. It's about following your own path and enjoying the process.
